Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory

Computation Directorate

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) is a National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) research and development laboratory dedicated to national security. Lawrence Livermore is home to some of the world's most powerful supercomputers and the resident high performance computing (HPC) expertise LLNL requires to fulfill its security missions in stewardship of the United States' nuclear deterrent and homeland security.
LLNL also applies its world-class HPC capabilities to such national and global challenges as energy and climate change as well as basic science. The complexity of the science and engineering problems NNSA labs address requires Lawrence Livermore, Los Alamos and Sandia national labs to work with industry and academia to advance the state-of-the-art in high performance computing.
